Nilgirirs
"Eucalyptus Oil and Tea"
Nilgiris or the ‘Blue Mountains’ have always caught the fancy of travellers who love the raw undulated beauty of nature. The blue-tinted mountain ranges, a part of the Western Ghats ranges, are famous for their exotic flora, waterfalls, wildlife, streams, and beautiful nature trails. The mist-covered valleys and miles of forests lend the Nilgiris an out of the world charm unlike any place in the country making it one of the places to visit in Tamil Nadu. One of the most popular attractions here is the Doddabetta Peak, which is the highest peak in the region. Visit the Telescope House at the summit of the peak to see the massive surrounding Shola forests and catch a stunning hillside sunset. Don’t miss to visit Catherine Falls, the second-highest waterfall in the Nilgiris. Surrounded by lush tea plantations and forests, this fall is amongst the most beautiful waterfalls in the country. Another great place to visit is Sim’s Park that’s popular for its unusual plants, ornamental trees, rockeries, and flowerbeds. Located in the Silent Valley National Park, Emerald Lake is one of the prettiest lakes in the region. Views of its shimmering blue-green waters surrounded by thick forests are one of the most stunning sights in the Nilgiris.
